Jenn Standish – Center Director
Jenn began her employment at the Eastern 4-H Center in February 2017. Growing up in New York, she loved the outdoors. This love for nature combined with her childhood experiences in Girl Scouts directed her to a career in youth development and education. Jenn received her BS in Environmental Science and MS in Recreation. Jenn brings over 20 years of professional camp and recreation experience to the center. Sara Lilley Phelps – Marketing Director
Sara has worked at the center since its opening in 2001. From a client’s first inquiry to arriving for their event, Sara works with each group to finalize their event details and customize their experience at the center. As Marketing Director, she also maintains the center’s website, social media, event publicity, and community relations. Program Director – Cady Breslin
Cady is excited to join the Eastern 4-H Center as the Program Director. She comes from a background in Environmental Education and holds a BA in Biology and an MAT in the Biological Sciences. Cady works to develop programs and train staff that provide educational and recreational programming to summer camps, group retreats, and field trips. Administrative Services – Lynn Cabacar
Lynn began working at the Eastern 4-H Center in 2012 after a career in community banking. Lynn’s primary responsibilities include maintaining the center’s financial management – invoices, accounts receivable, accounts payable, human resources, payroll, and daily office administrative duties. Charles Midgette
As one of the Eastern 4-H Center’s original staff members, Charles has served the center since 2001. As maintenance supervisor, he oversees housekeeping, all groundskeeping, and facility repairs. Charles’ dedication and work are visible to every guest from the manicured outdoors to the pristine condition of our facilities. Samantha Roughton
Samantha began working at the Eastern 4-H Center in June 2017. As the food service supervisor, she oversees all aspects of our food service operations. This includes managing full-time and seasonal staff, ensuring that our guests are receiving nutritional food, guests are receiving high-quality customer service, and that all health codes and safety standards are being followed to ensure the safest food preparations. Alfreda Mercer
Alfreda has been with us since 2019 as our full-time cook for the Elderly Nutrition Program. This program provides meals to the senior citizen population in Tyrrell, Hyde, and Washington Counties who are signed up through the Albemarle Commission Meals on Wheels program.
Diem Mai
Diem has been full-time with us since 2014. He is responsible for helping with the packaging and delivery of the food for our Elderly Nutrition Program. He delivers food to Tyrrell, Hyde, and Washington Counties so that volunteers can then go out in the community to deliver these meals to the participants of the Meals on Wheels program.
