Summer Camp Employees

We are extremely proud of the quality of our Eastern 4-H Center Staff! Counselors and program instructors are selected for their skills, enthusiasm, leadership ability, and the characteristics of responsibility that 4-H represents so well. Additionally, our international counselors, who are hired from all around the world, bring a wealth of diverse experiences and knowledge to our camp experience for staff and campers alike.

As a part of our staff, you’ll work at an outstanding facility in a beautiful bayside setting. You will also enjoy comfortable accommodations and excellent food with other interesting young people from around the country….and even the world! Furthermore, you’ll become part of the long and honorable tradition of 4-H and NC State University.

Camp Counselor:
Camp Counselors are responsible for the daily care and supervision of up to 10 children charged under their care, ranging from ages 5 to 17. Camp Counselors will foster and maintain positive, developmentally sound relationships between and with campers, assist in personal care as needed, be attentive at all times, and assist with a variety of camp programs. These include, but are not limited to, target sports, ecology, climbing wall, crafts, and aquatic activities.

Climbing Tower/High Ropes Instructor:
The Climbing Tower/High Ropes Instructor oversees the daily instruction and programming at the climbing wall, giant swing, and high ropes area for audiences of up to 25 children, ranging from ages 5 to 18. The instructor is also responsible for the equipment and cleanliness of these program areas. They will ensure that all staff and campers follow the proper safety instructions and procedures at these program areas. They will also live in a group cabin and assist with supervising campers/children.
