We’re looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals who can serve as role models, and mentors for our summer camp season. Summer Camp Staff live, eat, play, sing, and assist in the supervision of campers aged from 5-17 years old throughout the summer.
The Eastern 4-H Center is owned and operated by NC State University. We are located in Columbia, NC on the Albemarle Sound, which is about an hour from the Outer Banks.
Our mission is to provide year-round training and education that promotes lifelong learning through outdoor education and recreation programs for all.

You will be contributing to many wonderful camper memories in addition to having the best summer ever while making lifelong friends.
We are a co-ed overnight camp looking for Summer Camp Counselors and Program Instructors. Summer Camp Counselors’ main responsibility is the daily care of about 10 campers, while Program Instructors will deliver age-appropriate, predetermined curriculum in a variety of camp activities. Camp Activities include target sports, ecology, crafts, aquatic activities, photography, rock climbing, sports, games and so much more.
We are still looking for cabin counselors, an arts-n-crafts instructor, a camp photographer, and lifeguards. If you are interested in being a lifeguard, we will provide training if you are not already certified through American Red Cross.
Camp sessions are one week in duration. All staff live in a cabin with campers.
Employment dates are June 5 – August 5, 2023. Your work schedule will begin around noon on Sundays and end around noon on Fridays with Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon as time off. Workdays are subject to fluctuate from time to time.
Must be 18 years of age or have graduated High School and will be at least 17 by the anticipated start date.
Must enjoy working with children and outdoors.
Preferred American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
Prior camp experience is also a plus but not necessary.
Starting pay is $300 per week.
