SUMMARY:6th Annual Environmental Education Workshop Week
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for a week of Environmental Education Workshops at the Eastern 4-H Center. We are planning 5 days of workshops dedicated to the enhancement of programs and activities for formal and non-formal educators. Each day will provide you with program guides\, activity books\, and/or new methods for your classroom.  Come for just one day or come all week. \n\nRegister Now \n Registration OPEN \n\nParticipants should come prepared to be outside. We plan to hold workshops rain or shine\, so please bring appropriate attire. Workshops will generally be from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm daily\, with an hour-long lunch break from 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm; buffet-style lunch on site. All program plans and activities are set to the current North Carolina Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards. Lodging will be available throughout the week and will be filled on a first-come\, first-serve basis. All programs take place in person at the Eastern 4-H Center\, 100 N. Clover Way\, Columbia\, NC\, 27925. Pre-registration is required by Friday\, January 30\, 2026. \n\nRegistration Costs \nIndividual workshops: Individual costs are listed below; some workshops are FREE! \nLunch: $12/person will be added to every registration. During the rest of the week\, they are participating in fun programs at camp. Trained staff accompany campers throughout the week.  \n\nCheck-in is at 2:00 pm on Sunday and Check-out is at 10:00 am on Friday. SUMMARY:Camp Canvasback
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\n\nRegistration for Male Spot – OPEN \n\n\n Registration for Female Spots-OPEN \n\n\n\nCamp Canvasback\nThe Eastern 4-H Center partners with the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission to offer this camp.  This is a program that encourages and educates young hunters on waterfowl conservation. Campers participate in activities that help them understand waterfowl biology\, wetland ecology\, hunting techniques\, and other conservation practices. \n\nThe camp consists of a multi-year tract\, with campers progressing to the next tract the following year to build on previously learned skills. You can start this camp at any time between the ages of 10 – 17 and also graduate to the “vet” status by having proof of your hunter and boater safety courses that are offered by the NC Wildlife Resource Commission.  Skills taught during Camp Canvasback include shotgun safety\, shooting & firearm care\, waterfowl identification\, duck blind construction\, boat & water safety\, and first aid. \n\nCheck-in is at 2:00 pm on Sunday and Check-out is at 10:00 am on Friday. Groups and activities are facilitated by professionally trained camp counselors and program instructors. 4-H Camp is always open to everyone; youth do NOT need to be members of 4-H to participate.
